West Coast DHB Scholarship information

The West Coast District Health Board are very pleased to be able to offer the Sponsorship Awards in the form of Scholarships to West Coast students who are studying at a NZ University or Polytechnic in a health related undergraduate career.

How the Scholarships work

The Scholarship Awards will be granted to twenty students to the value of $500.00 each.

These awards are offered to tertiary students who are studying at a New Zealand University or Polytechnic in an undergraduate health related career. Applicants will be required to complete an application form and submit necessary documentation to be eligible for consideration.

All applicants will be notified by mail/email of the results. The successful applicants will be invited to attend an award ceremony later in the year.

Eligibility

  • Must have resided on the West Coast for minimum of 1 year
  • Be currently enrolled at a recognised NZ University or Polytechnic
  • Be studying in an undergraduate health related career
  • Five of the 20 scholarships will be made available to students with Maori or Pacific Island heritage

Application Process

  • Complete an Application form (a download link has been provided just below) and sign
  • Accompanied by 500 word submission - details on application form
  • Evidence of tertiary enrolment for current year - with your name
  • Copy of tertiary results from previous year - if applicable
  • Post applications to the address on the application form before closing date:

West Coast DHB Process:

All applications that meet the registration criteria will go to a panel for review and selection. The decision of the panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

All applicants will be notified of the results by mail / email.

Successful applicants will be invited to a Presentation at the West Coast District Health Board to be awarded their certificates and cheques.
