Fresh Future Appeal

West Coast children are again set to benefit as the 2010 Fresh Future Appeal is launched this week.

The West Coast portion of the national 2010 Fresh Future Appeal will be launched at Parfitt Ward, Grey Base Hospital on Friday 6 August.

Fresh Future Appeal

The appeal is run by the Progressive Enterprises family of supermarkets and Dick Smith stores throughout New Zealand from August until the end of October for paediatric care in various NZ hospitals, with staff organising a broad and imaginative range of fundraising activities.

In 2009 the appeal raised over $1 million, which was divided among ten different hospitals. Young patients throughout the country benefited with a variety of equipment being purchased from the funds raised in the appeal. West Coast kids and their families in hospital have directly benefited with paediatric monitoring equipment, a new birthing bed, breast pump and examination equipment purchased for maternity and paediatric wards from money raised.

Clinical Nurse Manager paediatrics, Dot O'Connor said she was very appreciative of all the efforts made in fundraising around the country by the Fresh Future Trust. West Coast children and their families were certainly benefitting from the generosity of everyone who participates in the appeal.
