Reefton community invited to discuss health services

A public meeting on Thursday 21 August marks the beginning of an important conversation with the Reefton community on the way to provide targeted, integrated, high quality health services to ensure the wellbeing of Reefton's population.

West Coast DHB Chief Executive David Meates says the meeting at the Workingmen's Club from 7.00pm - 8.15pm marks the first stage in a process to plan what the future of Reefton health services might look like, taking into account the constraints and opportunities that currently exist.

"Some months ago when I was last in Reefton I made a commitment that when the DHB had greater certainty about the facility developments in Grey and Buller, we would engage the Reefton community in a conversation about the future mix and configuration of Reefton health services," Mr Meates says.

"This first public meeting on 21 August is to provide background and context to the process that we'll run over the next couple of months.  We'll set out the variety of ways in which the community can work with us to explore the future of Reefton health services."
